Explain what
the company is, where it is located etc. (is it a sole trader, - partnership,
plc. Ltd. etc.):
The company is
a film production company. They create a series called Soko Leipzig. They have
been open since 2001 and have 16 seasons. They are located Inselstraße 22. The
building they have occupied is a very old building that looks like a small
theater. A lot of the filming takes place there so it is not near the city
center and it’s in a quite neighbourhood with small streets that they block off
whenever they film.
- Aims and objectives?
The company is
worried because television is suddenly no longer the main means of visual
entertainment. Their currents goal is to find a way of TV becoming more appealing
to the teenaged population.
- Are there different departments?
There are
different departments. There is the filming department, the promotional
department, the editing department, the scripting department and the planners.
The planners are the people who organise timetables and who is needed where and
props.
- How might the external environment affect the company? Why?
If they are
meant to shoot an outside scene in the sunlight and it is raining it can cause
an issue and rescheduling is in order. But the matter of light and dark from when
the actors and actresses are inside they have machines and mirrors that can
give the illusion of daylight even if its night. Other than the weather there
are few external matters that can have a full negative affect on the company.
- What does it sell/ provide?
They provide
the public and their target audience with entertainment via video. Episodes of
Soko Leipzig that come out all through the year.
